How to Claim for Travel Delays
Method 1: Most airlines will re-issue the boarding pass when the plane’s is delayed for more than a certain length of time. In this case, an original copy of the delayed boarding pass will suffice when you submit it together with the Insurance Company’s official claim form.
Method 2: If the airlines did not re-issue the boarding pass (as with most budget airlines), obtain an official letter on the delay from the airline’s authority, printed with their letterhead. This will really make your life easier when you are required to proof that your flight has indeed been indeed delayed. If you choose not to obtain the letter on the spot, and waited until you are back to your home country, it might take a longer time for them to issue the letter, as they need to cross-reference with various departments.
Just remember, your claims for travel delay will not be entertained by the Insurance Company without solid evidence such as original letter from the airline and boarding pass.
