Tourist Visa is granted if sole objective of visiting India is recreation,
sight seeing, casual visit to meet friends and relatives etc. No other
activity is permissible on a Tourist Visa. The Tourist Visa is nonextendable and non-convertible.

1) Holders of Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry, there should be a gap of at least two months between two visits to the country.

2) If required to visit the country again within a period of two months of last departure, should obtain special permission from the Mission/Post concerned.

3) Everyone should register themselves with the Foreign Regional
Registration Office (FRRO)/ Foreign Regional Office (FRO) within 14
days of arrival. An endorsement will be made on the visa sticker.

4) If applies for Tourist Visa frequently i.e., within one month of expiry of the previous Tourist Visa, the Indian Missions/Posts abroad would refer such cases to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA – Foreigners Division) for clearance before grant of fresh Tourist Visa.

Business Visas are issued to those who wish to enter the country for the purpose of business, explore business opportunities or conducting business transactions in India. Therefore, businessman must apply for a Business Visa to enter the country instead of tourist Visa.
